As Editor-in-Chief of Phi Psi Cli yearbook my senior year of college, I was in charge of the overall thematic concept, design elements, and final publication of the 2019 book.
The theme I chose was "Connected", signifying the importance of the relationships and connections each student forms during their four years at Elon University. I chose to implement thematic design elements of lines with dots, triangles of varying opacities, and strategically cut photos to convey this idea.
The cover of this book (see above) was awarded a place in the coveted 2019 Herff-Jones lookbook. The publication and several of its individual pages also won Best of Show in the 2019 North Carolina College Media Association competition.
While Editor-in-Chief, I successfully managed a staff of 15 students, several of whom had little previous experience in design. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching the basics of yearbook design and serving as a mentor to my staff. Being involved in yearbook was truly a perfect combination of my love for design and keen sense of planning and organization.
The entire book was made in InDesign and published by Herff-Jones.
